Diablo 3: Malthael (Final Boss) Fight on Torment IV Difficulty Level by a Diablo Noob (No Mods)
When I recorded this fight, I'd been playing Diablo 3 for only about a week. This is my first Diablo game. I had leveled my first character, the wizard Ceylan, up to 70 during campaign mode. By then, I had increased the difficulty level up to Torment IV since anything lower was too easy.
Malthael, the final boss, was the most difficult of all the boss fights for me, followed by Urzael. I found Diablo only the third most difficult of these bosses at this high level of difficulty.
(The final boss, one would think, should be the most difficult.)
I tried to choose a build to maximize survivability as much as possible without sacrificing too much in damage per second (dps) in my fight with Malthael. Unless you're a computer, Malthael and his minions who deal you a lot of damage. Damage mitigation and life regeneration were very important in my fight with Malthael.
In fact, as may notice in the video, I did not even use a health potion and either one of the two healing wells once in my victory over Malthael.
To be honest, this was my second victory over Malthael at Torment IV. Not so smartly, I tried to record the gameplay of my first victory over Malthael on Torment IV at the end of the Diablo 3 ending credits. But those credits run over 15 minutes long! That's longer than the PS4 recording limit of 15 minutes.
Because the game autosaved just before the Malthael fight, I made a copy of the Diablo 3 application saved data at that time. I restarted the fight with Malthael - and this time, I made sure to press "Save Video Clip" on my PS4 soon after the Diablo 3 ending credits began to roll after my second victory over Malthael on Torment IV.
In my first victory over Malthael on Torment IV, I healed myself once with the health potion. But I did not need to use either one of the two healing wells even once.
I could have taken the easy route and lowered the difficulty level a notch or two, but I wanted to beat Malthael on Torment IV. I died only once to Urzael and did not die even once against Diablo. After many defeats and coming close on several occasions, I finally had Malthael figured out.
I could attempt and defeat Malthael on Torment V with the build I used on Torment IV. But, as you can see in the video, I picked up a legendary weapon (a staff) and a green set item in my second victory over Malthael on Torment IV. I want to keep these items.
