Liam Neeson had worked with director Jaume Collet-Serra on four films prior to Black Adam, and he was one of the first names considered. Oded Fehr had also been eyed for the possible role since he had already voiced the same character in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. Dr. Fate actually uses two different spells in the final battle, and they come straight out of the video game Injustice 2. The first is a giant ankh that is dropped on Sabbac. The second one comes to free an imprisoned Teth-Adam, and he uses different hand gestures that are from his victory animation when he wins a round in the game.
