408,109Christian Bale almost turned down the role of Gorr for multiple reasons. For one, he had initially decided that he wasn’t going to do anymore comic book or superhero films after finishing The Dark Knight Rises, due to the fact that he found the genre uninteresting, and he found the experience of putting on the Batman costume a miserable one. On top of that, Christian Bale also usually prefers to have more time in between projects, but he only had three days after his last project before going into quarantine in Australia for this film. It was his kids that convinced him to take the role, and he was impressed with Taika Waititi’s previous films.
