DIGGING to the CENTER of the MOON! - Astroneer Gameplay Ep2
Welcome to another Episode of Astroneer Gameplay! We take a Journey to the Center of the MOON! Our first time lifting off from out home planet and landing on another rock! Leave a LIKE for ZERO G's!
This episode is full of content! Last week we left off with a space shuttle waiting for take off, but with no idea quite how to do it. This episode we figure it out (with some awkward troubles along the way). When we first try to see what the space shuttle is all about, some weird stuff happens at we end up glitching through the ground upside down... So we build another space shuttle and roll with it.
We build some a fuel condenser which helps us fill up our space shuttle and prepare for take off. A successful shuttle launch puts us in space for the first time! But it looks like we only have enough fuel to make it to a barren moon of out planet. We land there and see that it is in fact barren, and very small. But this gives me an idea. Let's DIG TO THE CENTER! But we need some resources to survive the long dark journey without sunlight.
So we head back and start some research so we can get some batteries and power cells. These items will be essential for our moon digging extravaganza. After some labor and strange encounters with terrain glitches, we craft exactly what we need and head back to the moon.
We land on the moon and quickly begin our journey! But it is certainly easier said than done. Digging straight down tends to be a bit painful on the legs as we experience repeated fall damage. Not to mention unexpected breaches into underground caves! But eventually we get into a rhythm and find ourselves experiencing less and less gravity as we get closer and closer to the very center of the moon. And just as expected we reach a point in which we no longer fall after digging down! Zero gravity! Success!
Let me know if you have any other fun experimental ideas you'd like to see me try. I enjoyed this a lot and am looking forward to exploring other planets that are not so barren. See you next time!

What is Astroneer?
Description
Astroneer, an upcoming PC game from developer System Era Softworks, places players in a 25th century gold rush where they explore the frontiers of outer space, risking their lives and resources in harsh environments for the chance of striking it rich. Resources extracted from planets, asteroids, and moons can be traded with friends or crafted into new tools, vehicles, and modules. Environments are procedurally generated in a uniquely rendered voxel engine, featuring a textureless aesthetic that allows players to deform and shape the terrain as though it were made of Play-Doh.
History
Astroneer is developed by System Era Softworks, based in Seattle Washington, with members teleworking from like Toronto and Salt Lake City. Astroneer is System Era’s first game as a studio, with members hail from triple-A development with individual credits on Halo, Assassin’s Creed, Team Fortress, the Sims, and many others. System Era came together in 2014 out of a desire to create games that reflect the legacy and future of human space exploration, inspiring a sense of wonder and reverence for a beautiful universe.
