ASTRONEER SPACE SURVIVAL! - Astroneer Gameplay Ep1
Welcome to an Episode of Astroneer! This is a brand new game that just came out and today we are taking a first look at the Astroneer Gameplay! Leave a LIKE if you want to see more Astroneer Gameplay on the channel!
In this episode of Astroneer we start our adventure on an empty planet and figure out how the game works and what we can do. After learning the basic controls I start off with some resource harvesting and terraforming. The terrain modification tool is really fun and interesting to use!
Then we take a look at some basic components of the base building mechanics and learn what resources and materials we need to start building things on our base.
Of course if we want to get these resources, we have to do some traveling. So we go explore some nearby wreckage of what appears to be a satellite of some sort, and scavenge some parts for research purposes.
Then we take a walk towards a big mountain and find a large cave dwelling deep inside the mountain. This is the first time we encounter some hostility on the planet as we get sprayed with some toxic gas. In the cave we scavenge some more resources and find some more research items.
Now that we are a bit more well equipped and familiar with some of the mechanics, we do some more advanced base building and even build ourselves a rover. We can use the rover to transport items farther and faster if we have enough energy. We also craft a printer, and smelter, and other useful base items to help us with our journey. Eventually we get enough material to build ourselves a shuttle! But I'm not quite sure how to make it lift off yet. We'll save that for the next episode!

What is Astroneer?
Description
Astroneer, an upcoming PC game from developer System Era Softworks, places players in a 25th century gold rush where they explore the frontiers of outer space, risking their lives and resources in harsh environments for the chance of striking it rich. Resources extracted from planets, asteroids, and moons can be traded with friends or crafted into new tools, vehicles, and modules. Environments are procedurally generated in a uniquely rendered voxel engine, featuring a textureless aesthetic that allows players to deform and shape the terrain as though it were made of Play-Doh.
History
Astroneer is developed by System Era Softworks, based in Seattle Washington, with members teleworking from like Toronto and Salt Lake City. Astroneer is System Era’s first game as a studio, with members hail from triple-A development with individual credits on Halo, Assassin’s Creed, Team Fortress, the Sims, and many others. System Era came together in 2014 out of a desire to create games that reflect the legacy and future of human space exploration, inspiring a sense of wonder and reverence for a beautiful universe.
