Digimon Adventure (PSP, English Sub): Part 107: Crossover Dungeon 5/8 (Savers the Favors)
1Tai, Agumon, and Hackmon went even further into the massive Digital Dungeon after parting ways with Takuya. They just had to wonder how much further they had to travel, let alone how the flow of time even works in this area...
Suddenly, they were approached by yet another human... and this one had an Agumon of his own! A bigger Agumon than Tai's, even!
They immediately accused them of being fakes, and challenged them to a fight!

Yeah! Just like that, you have to fight a REAL ShineGreymon!
Thankfully, this won't be a tough boss. I took him down in three hits, but that was kind of a scare to me.

A fight betwen the two Agumon was about to get quite HEATED! But Tai had to stop the fight before anything intense could happen.
The tall guy and his Agumon calmed down after they realized they were all trapped by the same black shadow that they faced before.
The guy finally introduced himself as Masaru Daimon (Marcus Damon). He claims to be the best street fighter in Japan, and he LOVES to solve anything and everything with a punch!
(This must be the guy Takuya was talking about before...)
Suffice to say, they all decided to team up.

Marcus and his different-looking Agumon hail from the 5th anime series, called Savers in Japan, but Data Squad in the US. He is the current leader of his division of DATS, or Digital Accident Tactics Squad. Or just Data Squad.
You may immediately notice how different Marcus looks compared to Tai, Davis, Takato, and Takuya. He's taller and older than them, and HE LACKS GOGGLES!
This is because Savers/Data Squad was intended for a slightly older demographic compared to previous Digimon anime. This also included a completely different, more "mature" artstyle for the human characters and a greater emphasis on hot-blooded MANLY action! Masaru not only uses his Agumon to fight other Digimon, but a lot of the times, he'll just fight enemy Digimon with his OWN fists!
With all of that said, Savers/Data Squad is the biggest departure of the anime formula, and there hasn't been a season like this since. Nonetheless, Marcus’ partnership with his Agumon is pretty familiar to the tried and true mythos of these series.
As a Support Character, Marcus will send ShineGreymon into battle to back you up. He'll be much stronger here than when you fought him as a boss. This form was gained when Marcus used a DNA Charge on his previous form, RizeGreymon. However, there's an even higher level that Marcus' Agumon can reach than this that's not in this game.

Oh man... Infermon is starting to appear as regular field enemies, now...

At the start of Area 2, Tai had to wonder why Marcus' Agumon kept called him "Boss"?
That's pretty much a lot of respect of how they met. Marcus and this Agumon kept exchanging fists, and then that set them for life as partners and best friends.
Tai was quite bewildered by this. He would never want to punch his own Agumon like this...

At the start of Area 3, a Fake ShineGreymon appear!
Did I mention that I still hate enemy Ultra Counters at this point? These fake bosses are nonetheless "Death of a Thousand Cuts".

The Fake ShineGreymon was promptly punched into oblivion.
The group was then approached by something else... another threatening Digimon. The same being that brought everyone here to begin with.
Hackmon knew him as Gankuumon, and then charged at him. Alas, he was too weak against him and was knocked out in the process. Gankuumon did not have time to explain himself, and then left the gropu to keep going further.
Hackmon was badly hurt, but he was still alive. For now, Marcus left Hackmon in Tai's hands, while he and his own Agumon left to hunt down Gankuumon.
