As we progress through the castle, it is becoming more and more apparent that we need a better jump. We proceed through an underground section which starts off with a fall down a waterfall. As we fell, we discovered that there was plenty to see, but we certainly have no way of getting around in there yet. But aside from that, just regular traveling includes lots of little jumps down here that are just too high for our current capabilities. We are fortunate that there is a path around that does work for us, and are able to explore as much as the underground section as we are able to for now. Once we return to Arrantville, we discover that Zangetsu knows how to do a double jump, and gives us a hint on where we can proceed to learn how to do so as well.
