A Heroic Run That Just Dominates | Hades: Part 43
There isn't much special about this run. We make a bit of progress with our relationships, and even get our 10 ambrosia back from Dusa. This leaves us with too much ambrosia in hand. In all reality, we could spend all of it right now on leveling up our companion gifts, but we will hold up and do only one for now. We pick the one that we were gifted by Sisyphus, because I think being able to summon it five times will help us farm some darkness and even some obols within the run. This seems too good to pass up, and worth the ambrosia that we spend to level it up.
We run with Aegis and the aspect of Chaos. Aegis has been completed with each of it's aspects, so we try a fully leveled up aspect of Chaos for fun. Earlier, we traded in ten ambrosia for ten titan's blood, and hopefully this will be worth it. Getting to toss out five shields with our special seems like it could be overpowered with the right boons or Daedulus upgrades. Well, we get what we asked for with a Daedulus upgrade. Dread flight causes our shield to bounce between targets during the special, which with the aspect of Chaos, means five bouncing shields. We even get Zeus' flourish ability meaning that they can cast lightning on impact. It may end up being fewer lightning bolts than we would like, similar to what happened with Coronacht, but it should still be fun.
However, things quickly change. Artemis allows us to replace the lightning bolt ability by increasing the damage by nearly 100% as well as having a chance to crit. I think this will result in more damage, and it also upgrades our flourish from epic to heroic. This will kind of become the theme of the run (or could have been if we would have taken a different one we get offered later).
Most of the run after this is rather uneventful. We do discover that using the companion we got from Sisyphus doesn't net us very much on each use however. 12 darkness and 30 obols. Doing this five times helps a little more than once, and each run may add up, but probably wasn't worth the ambrosia we spent. Oh well.
Near the end of the run, we do get a choice to upgrade our attack to heroic, but we pass. It involves using Zeus' attack (which causes a little chain lightning) instead of the hangover effect that we got from Dionysus. This may have been more tempting, if not for an earlier duo boon we got from Artemis and Dionysus that causes enemies with hangover to be more likely to receive crits. However, we get another opportunity for a heroic boon by replacing Ares' blade dash for Zeus' lightning dash. This one we do take, and with five dashes (three extra from Hermes) it works out pretty darn good.
