We have a goal at the moment, and that is to hit level 31. We are level 30, and completed a levequest unlock quest that earned us a new piece of gear. But the level requirement for it was level 31. In fact, our level 30 class quest also rewarded us a piece of gear that requires level 31. Even more incentive to hit level 31.
We have a few options available to us, one of which is completing our level 30 guildhests that we have available to us now. A problem with that method is that we haven't upgraded our gear for a bit, and I think the new gear we got will help with it. So with that out of the question, what else do we have available?
Obviously we can continue our Main Story Quests which are guaranteed to get us up there eventually. That does kind of involve us changing locations. We have some free tickets to take us to the Waking Sands, but we aren't quite ready to move back there yet. On second thought, it probably would have been fine.
Instead, we complete a low level unlock quest which unlocks ventures for our retainers (which we'll get to later) and our hunting log. Our hunting log is still in the 11-20 range, so it probably won't do much for us, but all of it is in the Twelveswood (for now) so we focus on that. The good news is that doing so unlocks the 21-30 range in our hunting log, but the bad news is that it is spread between the Twelveswood, Thanalan, and La Noscea. No problem, since there is enough in our current location to push us to level 31. Hooray!!
With our gear upgraded a little bit, it is time to do our guildhests. It turns out that they really weren't anything special, and we probably could have done it with our previous gear. But it was more of a just-in-case type thing so we didn't drag down other players. With that out of the way, it is time to go check out what is going on with the retainers.
It turns out that some of the stuff that we listed for prices that may have been too high, actually sold. Perhaps we could have sold more stuff if we adjusted the prices a bit, but that can wait for a bit. We are more interested in this venture stuff. It turns out that our retainers can go out on quests of their own. We just have to assign them a class and give them some gear. Well... we can only assign them classes that we have unlocked and leveled up. So, I guess that means we are about to have a trio of conjurers. Sounds good enough, but the issue comes with gearing them up. If it was only one, we could give them the gear that we outlevel, but with two, we will have to either stagger the gear a bit, or come up with a whole new set of it. I guess this is a problem for future me, as well as trying to obtain more venture tokens to use to send them out.

Completed Quests
* In Nature's Embrace (Class Quest) - E-Sumi-Yan tasks me and Sylphie with an investigation into the South Shroud regarding some sources of corruption. We are not to engage, just observe.
* Leves of Hawthorne (Unlock Quest) - Unlocks levequests near the Hawthorne Hut.
* The Transporter (Levequest) - We get the priviledge of escorting an orphaned Sylph to Little Solace.
* An Ill-conceived Venture (Unlock Quest) - There may be a problem with a fellow adventurers retainer who has gone missing.
* More than a Feeler (Guildhest) - The waters in the Twelveswood are at risk of being poisoned. We must slay the creature responsible.
* Annoy the Void (Guildhest) - A creature from the void has moved into a nearby mineshaft. We must stop him before he does what he came to do.
* Dressed to Deceive (Main Story Quest) - Thancred and I dress up as vagrants in order to trick the false priest whom we believe responsible for the disappearances.
* Hallo Halatali (Unlock Quest) - We are sent to a dungeon in order to train our skills.

Ongoing Quests
* World of Wonders (Unlock Quest) - We are greeted at the entrance to the Gold Saucer, and are encouraged to take a tour of the facility.
* Beauty is Only Scalp Deep (Unlock Quest) - We meet the aesthetician and are tasked with getting him the tools of his trade from the three nation capitals.
* Life, Materia and Everything (Main Story Quest) - Minfilia sends us to an expert in materia in order to learn a bit more about how materia works.
