Disgaea 5 Complete Playthrough (Play 04) Story Progress Episode 2 Defeated!
1I have an immediate goal to get to the Item World, where the craziness of the game really begins. If its like the other Disgaeas, it unlock in Episode 3. Meanwhile as I rush through, many of my charies are getting behind in levels compared to the enemy. I'll try to even it out a bit more in the item world.
I get through Episode 2 and start episode 3. Lots of shops are opening up.
The Squad Shop is where you assign teams of characters to groups. These groups confer certain advantages, like entering the stage in big form, being able to capture units, or mooching exp off of the squads leader. Getting the right people in the right squad will take me time but this pays out a whole lot later on in the game. You could have just one super character in the mana squad giving mana to lots of weaker characters.
The Cheat Shop first appeared in Disgaea D2 and boy is it ever a life saver. While right now it seems to just be a bunch of handicaps you can turn on or off, you can also use it to control the level of monsters at a base level. So, if you want to grind, you turn the monster level up as high as you can manage. I'll probably level up too much for the story in the item world. I can balance the story back to my level with this feature. In disgaea1 you had to manually pass each monster up as a bill one at a time. It would drive you insane.
Another shop that opens is the DARK ASSEMBLY. They call it the Strategy Assembly here. A stable of the series, the assembly allows you to use mana to pass bills on all sorts of things. Some offer one time benefits. Other bills allow you to fight the super powerful post game characters.
In order for a bill to pass, the senators present must vote aye. If it fails, you can actually beat up all the naysayers. However, a more tactful way to handle a tough bill is to bribe all the high level senaters and of course, fill the senate with your own crew. There is a senate squad.
