Just be warned that some things below might be wrong.
SPOILERS BELOW

So apparently much of what has happened throughout the game can be traced back to Xenolith and his massive demon energy and even has a great amount of angel energy gathered. They all ask what he could possibly be plotting with all this energy, but he refuses to answer so Laharl says there's no point in discussing this any further. It's time to defeat Xenolith once and for all. However, Sicily stops him and asks Xenolith to please to return all of the angel energy. Xenolith refuses but Sicily tells him that if he does, she'll give up her energy in return. Flonne warns her that if she does, she's going to die, but Sicily is fine if it means saving Laharl and her fellow angels. However, it is absolutely NOT fine with Laharl. After all, he refuses to see her waste the life their mother gave her and tells her to believe in the Overlord's, no, her brother's power. And so it's time for them to battle!

By the battle's end, it seems like Laharl is victorious but he's unsatisfied. Xenolith is clearly holding back. Flonne asks once again what is he fighting for. Xenolith takes one good look at Etna and says

"...It's for the sake of my sister." (This is actually revealed much earlier in the game btw)

I'm unsure of what he says next, but it definitely has something to do with the possibility of his power killing Etna (As shown in her Bad Ending). However, Etna is more irritated by his words and asks Laharl to finish off Xenolith. Flonne asks her if she's even worried about the demon energy killing her, but Etna is indifferent and, in fact, says it would be a benefit to her if she gained all that power. Xenolith warns her that she's underestimating the demon energy but to Etna it sounds like fun. After all, she can't be a demon if she's afraid. And besides, the most important thing is to defeat Xenolith once and for all and free her brother from his power. Laharl says that it's time for this to end this and Xenolith agrees. He just wishes his sister didn't have to watch him die like this. However, Laharl says that he's not dying. After all, he has to answer for his crimes. Not just to the Overlord but to the Seraph as well, so Laharl can't let him die. And so Laharl prepares to deal the final blow. Unfortunately, Xenolith's power protects him and teleports further into the caverns.

When they finally confront Xenolith again, he has lost himself to his overwhelming power and is ready to lash at anyone who gets in his way. Etna decides that there's no choice but for her to kill Xenolith. Sicily can't believe she would even think of killing her brother, but Etna knows there's no other way. Suddenly, Xenolith attempts to attack her, but Laharl deflects the attack. As he turns to Etna, he gives her the following order:

Laharl: If you end up consumed by that power, do not die! This is an order from your Overlord so don't you dare fail to obey it, you got that!?
Etna: ... No.

Even at a time like this, Etna has a playful little argument with him. Regardless, whether it be by the order of her Overlord or not, she absolutely refuses to let herself die. And so the final battle begins.

With one final joint blow between Laharl and Etna, Xenolith is defeated once and for all, his power now gone. Sicily attempts to check if he's alright but he warns her not to come any closer. Soon Etna becomes engulfed in the massive demon energy and she's struggling to keep herself together. However, she tells them to not worry about her. Right now they need to take care of Xenolith. However, he is suddenly engulfed by the earth and being slowly dragged down. They all tell him to escape and that he's finally reunited with his sister, but he knows that it's impossible and as if to prove his point, Laharl fails to break through the barrier. Xenolith apologizes to Laharl and hopes for him to take care of his sister as he sinks deeper. Then...

"Don't give me that crap!"

Etna tells Xenolith if he truly is her brother then he will live and if he can't do that, she will never forgive him. Laharl chimes in too, telling Xenolith that he commands him to return and he does not forgive those who would dare disobey him. In his final moments, Xenolith reflects on their words as he is dragged into the earth. As she watches her brother go, Etna collapses and says these words:

"I'll be waiting for you...my...stupid...brother..."

In the end, all is well and Laharl is planning yet another parade in his honor despite having held 30 of them and Sicily wishes he spend more time with her instead of stroking his ego again. However, they get the news that Etna, who had been in a coma since then, is finally awake but has run off somewhere. At the castle gates, the awakened Etna is having a conversation with someone and the scene ends with following line.

"Well, it's time to meet up with the Prince ...my stupid brother."
