Diving into The Active Threshold & Throwing Myself At The Source Of The Mold (Control Ultimate 6)
0I know that I said that I'd progress the story in the description of the last video, but Pope mentioned something about a scientist named Underhill studying The Mold. I know that the mold is effecting different areas of the bureau and I remember when I played this previously that Mold can hurt you if you get too close it. I made the choice to investigate The Mold and it quickly became what consumed most of this session. I honestly don't remember making much progress with this mission if or at all when I tried playing it the first time, but I quickly realized that having Pierce was going to save me. Throughout this session I was also able to construct Charge which made dealing with the Mold Infected easier to deal with. I think if I would have stopped after getting the pill that made me immune to the Mold effect that I could have made progress with the remaining time in the session, but I figure that it would be easier defeating the source of the Mold and I ended just throwing myself at The Source until I beat it. I came up with a few methods to make it easier on myself, but I don't think any plan I made helped in the long term. I did eventually defeat The Source and was rewarded with another side mission. (take this sentence with a thick layer of sarcasm) "Apparently there are other mold sources throughout the bureau and Underhill wants to me to kill them" of course I'm going to do it, but I honestly thought that after Langston that I wouldn't find some else who just give me a shopping list of things do despite being the person in charge, but I'm sure in Underhill's case she wouldn't care even if she knew I was the director. I tried to start to location the mold but quickly ran into a fight and decided to leave it for next session. I did however try to do the mission Old Friends and quickly got killed by a Hiss that can create a shield. I basically ended the session after losing that fight and plan to start next session with dealing with that mission then go after the projector.
