DIY 3D printing with hot glue - massive fail, but good learning experience [part 2]
This went a lot better, IMO, but still very far what I intended to accomplish.
First of all I have no drawing skills, so the writing sucks, but as a proof of concept it's just fine. The aluminium sheet I got from cutting the side of a soda can .... and after the process was done, it separated relatively easy from the hot glue.
The main problem is that I can't get a consistent temperature on my hot glue gun, as it only outputs around 7Watts. I'd have to push the glue out really slowly, so it would be sufficiently fluid to fill all the gaps. I'll have to buy a proper 20 or 30 Watt model... and some better glue sticks, that'll have more significant contrast.
If I put it in front of a light source, the colors fade and you con't really see the writing ... so ... still a fail, but hopefully somebody can improve the process or this gives you an idea to do something completely different. ;)
