A stream wherein I played through every normal level (read: not K or otherwise secret) of Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze. Did both at once switching between the two every time I lost 5 lives which are helpfully represented by assorted Kong heads. The heads refresh after each world, there's bonus heads I get as a buffer for each bullshit Minecart/Rocket level where you die in one hit, and after I finished one game I needed to make some additional rules on the fly to keep the gimmick going.

This big stream was put together mainly because I wanted one last big stream before I went on a bit of a hiatus. See, I'm moving next weekend so there won't be any more streams for a bit. Limited lives are a big part of my Mario Maker content, and I've done DKC1-3 with a similar life based game switch gimmick so I thought it'd be a fun final stream for the apartment and I think mission accomplished?

During its long length I of course talked about a great number of things both planned and unplanned. There's a lot to talk about with my upcoming move situation, but also the Winter 2024 Simulcast Season just ended, I partook in some of the last Twitch Watch Parties there will ever be and also made earbud purchasing decisions. There was also many unexpected shoutouts to Kaze and the Wild Masks, a little Pokemon speculation, some talk of my math brain and as much as I could remember about Jackie Chan Adventures. Of course, I also talked about my feelings about these two games and the three original SNES games but you'd kind of expect that in a hour DKC stream, wouldn't you?

It'll be awhile until the next stream. Not sure how long but I bet when I'm back I'll have a lot to talk about. There's the move, there's the next season of anime, I might meet my baby nephew and I'm also on the verge of finishing Persona 3 Reload. A lot can happen in a couple weeks.
