Trying out a recent English Fan translation of a PS1 action jrpg/animal sim game I talked about a few months ago in my top 5 PS1 JRPG games I would like to see get an English translation video.
Community Pom is a 1997 single player only action RPG/simulation game for the PlayStation One, developed and published by Fill in Cafe.
Game play is very reminiscent of classic 2D Zelda and puts a spin on things by adding a fun pet raising simulation element with the player rearing creatures referred to as "Poms" in order to increase their battle skills and unlock new features and abilities.
Story wise, you play the role of a young apprentice witch called Lulu. Your grandfather has tasked you with recovering all the Poms scattered across the world. As you progress more into the story, you soon uncover a sinister plot by mysterious dark forces to use the power of the Poms for evil intentions.
Here, I briefly try out the game just to get a feel for it and from what I played I have to say that the animations are very vibrant and colorful, game play is very fun and the music is very upbeat and catchy (boss music is pretty neat I think).
I might do a full play through of this game at a later date.
