#DMTips: Visualizing Monster Variations with the Bullseye Method
I wish I could say that I thought of this myself but... I didn't. And I can't find the blog that did. But I CAN share it with you, my fellow Gamemasters and game players, because I think it is very nifty. It's using a bullseye analogy to think about and visualize different monster populations: from the global, generic, default version of a creature, such as might be described in a monster manual, through regional and local variants, down to unique individuals. I think it's a great tool so I wanted to pass along.
