54Here's why Do Not Shut Down Your Windows Computer. Do you know that Your Windows PC may not be fully shutting down When you click “Shut Down” on your windows laptop or PC, Windows doesn’t fully shut down.
When you select the "Shut Down" option in your operating system, it closes all programs and logs you out of your account, but it doesn't actually power off the computer. Instead, it puts the system into a low-power state known as "hibernation" or "sleep."
This allows the computer to start up more quickly when you turn it back on, because it doesn't have to go through the process of booting up from a completely powered-off state.
If Shutting Down Doesn't Fully Shut Down Windows, so how to completely shutdown or power off your computer, you can do so by using the "Power Off" or "Shut Down and Power Off" option, which is usually available in the power options menu or as a button on the start menu. Here's how to fully shut down a Windows PC and make sure it refreshes properly on start up.
Go to the control panel.Click on Power Option. Now Under Power Options, from the left side click Change what the power buttons do. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable, which will allow you to change the grayed -out settings below. The settings at the bottom should now be available to adjust. Next, uncheck the box next to Turn on fast start-up then click Save changes.
