Documentary on David Lovins in The Mission by a fictional character
A film by Dirk Wampaflash. It took two years to edit the footage, to get into the right mindset to do it. I had the raw footage for a long time, and I could not delete it...I knew there was something there, something underneath the surface. Then, I found the perfect music for the piece, and the project was able to be completed. I was influenced by certain films like 'This Is Spinal Tap' and by Lily Tomlin. Every time I tried to put this film together, it was just lacking something, but then I found the magic in Windows Movie Maker. The original footage was an 'acted piece', with the theme of an underlying goof. I was very aware of that during filming, yet I wanted the fake and phoniness to become real, so I real had to dig into my character, which was, of course, me.
