Donkey Kong 64 101% Playthrough - 25. Creepy Castle: King Kut Out & Hideout Helm
DK64 was one of those games, that tried to follow up on the success of it's predecessor (in this case; Donkey Kong Country), and take it into the 3D era. To it's credit, it did a decent job taking the style, humor, and class of DKC into the 3D era. And honestly, the charm of the game itself, makes it one of the most entertaining, and appealing games on the N64.
Hideout Helm is the definition of tensity... no more games, no more tricks. If you blow it, your island is doomed. The timer and music tell you that this is a serious stage, and honestly; if you didn't get enough Blueprints, the level has less time to fulfill it. The purpose of collecting the Blueprints only becomes clear once Snide tells you how long he can delay the Blast-o-matic.
Also, for those curious why I spliced the Game Over sequence in... my game actually froze, so I figured it was a good spot to insert that; wouldn't have a good spot to show it off otherwise.
All the gameplay was recorded on my original N64 and Cartridge, and the gameplay/audio was recorded using the Razer Ripsaw HD Capture Card; and OBS Studio. Edited using Movavi Video Editor.
