Everyone seems to think the problem only occurs with six button presses at once. That's my bad for not being clear enough. It will happen EVEN WITH ONLY TWO of the back buttons, but it might take me an hour to demonstrate it. I used all six because I can make it happen very easily that way.
The best alternative I've found is the FPS Dominator Strikepack. It adds two paddles to a standard Xbone controller. It sounded janky to me, but it's very solid and I've been using it for a few weeks with no problems whatsoever. Highly recommended.
