Doom: Classic Unity Port Update for PC [Steam, 3rd of September 2020]
Yesterday, I was blown away to when I realized both, The Ultimate Doom and Doom 2 got 200MB+ update on Steam, something what you wouldn't expect from a pair of games which were initially sold as Dosbox-usable products ages ago. There are some ups and downs with this port. Most notable problem I came across was Mouse Sensivity, which is is ridiculously high even at the lowest setting, and sounds don't feel like working at 100% at times. PS4 users have already used this port for some time, and seeing this port come to PC so late is a bit surprising, but given that the original Ultimate Doom on Steam was playable only through Dosbox, this is a step into right direction for people who are not willing to invest on alternative source ports. If there are some features I'm into, those would be the music, add-ons, and local multiplayer. As of now, I've not tried the multiplayer yet and don't quite have figured how it works, but regardless, multiplayer is always welcome and I hope I get to try it at some point. I was using PS3 controller to play this as I couldn't play this with mouse + wasd due to problems with mouse sensitivity. Still, the best port for me personally to play classic Doom is PRBoom+.
