Doom needs no introduction, but on the off chance you grew up under a rock: Doom is a series of first-person shooter video games developed by id Software. The series focuses on the exploits of an unnamed space marine operating under the UAC (Union Aerospace Corporation), who fights hordes of demons and the undead in order to survive.
Growing up I spent countless hours plugging away at the Baron's of Hell, experiencing the visceral terror and horror of Hell as it leaked into our world.
John Romero, Lead Designer and Programmer of the original Doom announced via Twitter the other day that he had created a new level and needless to say I loaded it immediately and played it with joy.
However one of the things I thought odd were that all uploads of the playthrough were using Mouse and Keyboard. Some even used Brutal Doom to run the game. To me Doom was always about the Keyboard only, and after someone on Reddit mentioned that "Nobody can play with Classic Controls anymore" I felt the need to upload the way I play the classic game.
I don't think there is anything wrong with playing with a mouse or even playing brutal doom.....but being a long time player I do feel like the original levels were designed with Keyboard only in mind, so I wanted to see how Romero's level felt and how difficult it was with the old school controls.
The INVICTUS Stream is a place where we (the Gaming Group INVICTUS) get together to stream our Role-Playing Adventures and anything else that tickles our fancies….did I just say tickle our fancy? You bet your sweet ass I did.
