The pistol in Doom Eternal was removed before release. Why? Perhaps it felt sluggish, not fitting, slow or useless in the end-game; either way, the weapon itself is still useable within the game using the command g_enablepistol 1 on PC (with console commands enabled; I personally use Cheat Engine table from SunBeam to unlock them).
