What a cunt of a level this turned out to be.
Turns out that in the native map format, floors won't always act as crushers and instead will just punt taller things into the ceiling, immobilising them and leaving them as path-blocking bastards. So what do you do when this shit happens?
Punch them to death?
Fuck off, I do want to finish this map some time today. No, instead we'll have to be devious, and trap them at the furthest point so that there's a big enough gap to slide through. Because bollocks to this.
Still, it's a pretty terrible and unreliable crushing method to employ (and not the first or last time it's used in this WAD). If there's no guarantee that it's going to work every time, why use it as a 'feature' in the first place?
And no, it doesn't work in Doom2.exe either. I tried it.
