Flipside? Isn't that some sort of obsolete surfer-talk or something?

Oh, I see, in this context it's regarding to the reversal or opposite of something. Okay. Here, it's only the geometry that's flipped (or at least has been designed to look that way). Thankfully the laws of physics and gravity (or at least those approximations present in Doom) have in fact remained perfectly intact, so there's no random chance of running around on the ceiling with an upside-down viewpoint. Or floor, as the case may/would be here.

Unless of course you want to turn your monitor upside down, but I don't recommend that sort of behaviour. Besides which, it wouldn't change the game or video anyway. So go on, put your monitor back the right way up before you drop it and break the damn thing.
