I'm sure you are wondering what's going on, Well I have 9 more episodes of Doom Map Talk filmed and decided to do a 2nd teaser which hopefully should tide you over until the series begins sometime in 2022, The first 10 videos including the two teasers will focus on the 10 maps of TNT Revilution that stick in my mind ever since I first played it in 2018, I figured I would start this new series with a bang, look forwards to it.

After enduring two maps that I consider to be...not good, Map 18 "Hell's Signs" and Map 19 "The Crash Site", We get dropped again into silence and erieness with Map 20 "Portal Facility", This map concludes Episode 2 of TNT Reviltuion and its somewhat as un-nerving as "Transduction" but a bit flat too.. We've managed to catch up to the massive demon ship that fled back in Episode 1 and we've landed inside what appears to be a massive aircraft hangar and tech-lab.

Portal Facility is Massive, It's size reminds me of TNT Eviltuion's larger maps like Central Processing, Administration Center, Metal, and Mount Pain, though here Portal Facility feels like a combination of Central Processing and Metal, The atmosphere of Portal Facility is threatening yes but somewhat relaxed vs Transduction.

New custom textures such as the bloody TNT Sign in the large hanger, and "Revilution" on a screen in the lab section are downright moody and scary, I have seen some point out how the entire map reminds them of the spaceship from "Event Horizon" but I don't honestly see any resemblance at all, The monster count is pretty low in Portal Facility for TNT Revilution who's last 19 maps have thrown insanely hard ambushes on Ultra Violence at every twist and turn but Portal Facility doesn't do this as evilly, that doesn't mean clutches aren't possible.

We need to get a red key to access the portal room and reach hell itself, The red key room has two archviles who surprise me still to this day, Once that's done we need to get to the red key room's side area and activate a skull switch to open the portal room, I don't fire my weapons here because the final part is evil as hell, A large amount of cacodemons warp in along with FOUR arch-viles, two behind you at the end of the hangar and two in front of you and firing your weapon wakes up a cyberdemon, This isn't as bad if you a mod like I was for this episode of Doom Map Talk but Vanilla I always save every bullet, shell and rocket, and plasma pack i can because this fight is HARD.

What doesn't help the uneasy mood of Portal Facility is it's track "Hell's Furnace" which is by Eris Falling, The same author behind "Ionian Isolation" for Transdusction, The mapper of Portal Facility, James Cresswell aka Phobus made a solid finisher to Episode 2 and a harrowing look at a modern industrial hell to come for Episode 3, The only rough area of Portal Facility for me is it's somewhat questionable placement of armor bonuses, In hard to reach areas of the lab area, Armor always runs out for me when I play this map.
