There is one upgrade which you cannot avoid and that was the one I used for ammo. I seriously doubt certain segments in this run are possible without it to be honest.

Holy shit this is a hard fight without any upgrades or mods. I got lucky in a couple of spots here but I'll take it. Making use of the rockets splash damage is key and using the gauss to quickly take out the possessed soliders is very important as their attacks can quickly take you out.

Not having any BFG rounds going into this was killer as the sheer number of imps and even zombies are incredibly annoying to deal with. You are playing a bullet hell shooter when there's this many imps and you have to be careful to not run into a zombie while constantly evading.

The hell knights, pinky and mancubus' are ideally what you want to save the quad damage for but sometimes you just gotta adapt. Making use of the hot swap weapons is vital here. One wrong weapon switch and you're dead.
