DOOM: The Dark Ages vs DOOM Eternal - 15 BIGGEST Differences You May Not Know
It's almost incredible to think that id Software's DOOM Eternal was released in 2020. The first-person shooter remains a pinnacle shooter for many fans, upping the skill floor (and ceiling) with new tools, enemies, and challenges. Fans will finally get a follow-up to the saga on May 15th with DOOM: The Dark Ages when it launches for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
Though it's a prequel, The Dark Ages differs from its predecessor in more ways than one. Instead of an agile Slayer, it features one that stands against all opposition, parrying attacks, weakening monsters and bashing them with a flail, mace, gauntlet, and the new Shield Saw. It's a Slayer who can wield an Atlan mech against Titans across larger-than-ever levels in the biggest campaign yet.
Perhaps best of all, there's no multiplayer as id Software has chosen to focus squarely on its story, which has much more involved cutscenes. What are the other differences between DOOM: The Dark Ages and Eternal? Check out 15 of them here.
