0https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/themes/TeamTNT/eternal/eternal And now, For a wad I've had in my box of wads and mods to do for sometime, I had originally planned to tackle Eternal Doom way back in my Cacoward special in Season #3 but I waited because I had heard this wad gets positive and negative reactions at times and is controversial for many reasons, I think its a alright wad but I see what these people mean having played all the way through the wad earlier in 2021.
Eternal Doom was originally under development by Team Eternal but was finished by Team TNT of TNT Evilution fame, Released in 1996 on November 14th, This is the first pure build of the infamous wad, It was honored as one of the top 100 wads, placing 2nd for 1996, This megawad is different in quite a few ways.
Eternal Doom's maps are not the typical megawad's maps but MASSIVE MASSIVE ones that remind me a lot of TNT Evilution's last episode and another wad which is Hell Revealed, This is the first thing that most players have a issue with, Some maps require you to hit switches and then run across a long map littered with dead enemies, The Maps also have a lot of secrets but they are very hard to locate sometimes, It's soundtrack is decent but not filled with the hits you expect from TNT Evilution and from Icarus Alien Vanguard, Ammo placement could be better, This wad is a relic yes though only patient players I think would enjoy Eternal Doom's length.
