Doom Wads/Mods #587:The Twilight Zone II Final Dreams
https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/Ports/megawads/twzone2 Step into a realm of imagination, a world beyond.. Ever since I tackled Pcrof (Paul Corfiatis)' very first megawad, The Twilight Zone, I had been going through all his work prior to the massive break he established through 2002 A Doom Odyssey and experiencing his growth not just as a mapper and musician but the groundwork laid to him contributing to major projects like Akeldama, The Doomworld Mega Projects, The MAYhem series and more.
The sequel to 1998's The Twilight Zone, Twilight Zone II: Final Dreams was released on August 26th 1999, The storyline follows us against a evil cartoon boy named "Johnny Boy" which was, on a side note a character drawn by a penpal of Paul's named Andrew Snow. The 32 map megawad has us going through various techbases, natural settings and avante-garde inspired dream sequences (imo) that only Paul could design.
Twilight Zone II will scorch you badly if you enter without care as Paul's ambushes and ammo shortages, almost like a prototype ammo puzzle will force you to use shots carefully even on Hurt me Plently which reminds me heavily of Episode 4 in 2002 A Doom Odyssey, In addition to the map style looking much improved over The Twilight Zone, Paul's soundtrack composed for this megawad is a balance of terror, tension and anxiety with a few tracks from his Death Tormention series also getting featured,
