Doom Wads/Mods The Master Levels #3:Geryon
0I remember when I first played Acheron.Wad, This was the first experience I had with John Anderson (Dr. Sleep), He was the author of "And Hell Followed" for Ultimate Doom so he knew more then enough about Doom level quality to be hired by I.D. Software, Most of Dr. Sleep's contributions to The Master Levels are 5 levels that were going to be part of "Inferno" his unfinished 9 map set based on Dante's Divine Comedy of 9 Cantos, Of the maps Geryon stands out in a few ways.
The entire map reminds me of a Hellish base somewhere within the 9 circles of hell, It's track "The Dave D. Taylor Blues" fits it well, Side note I know of Peter's Midi pack for the master levels but I couldn't figure for the life of me how to install it.
Ammo's somewhat tight in Geryon and there's a few odd choices in design such as warping back to the beginning but of his 5 maps, Geryon for me, Is Dr. Sleep's perfectionist hit, The creme de le creme he released, I think it nearly matches the quality that John Romero, Sandy Peterson, and the Casali Brothers put together.
