I've been playing World of Warcraft since early 2006, so it's been a part of my life for quite a while. I've decided to make an on-and-off Let's Play of the game, doing one zone at a time to experience the lore and the many stories of this huge MMORPG!
Durotar is the starting zone of the Orcs and the Trolls. It's not the most accommodating place on the continent of Kalimdor, but it is the place they call home. It was founded by Thrall when the orcs arrived in Kalimdor and is named after his father, Durotan. The capital city of the orcs (and the entire Horde for that matter) also lies in this zone. It's found withing the ravines of it's most northern parts. It's named Orgrimmar, after the old Warchief, Orgrim Doomhammer, friend of both Thrall and Durotan. The land itself is a desert with sand that has been burnt red by the sun, only the thoughest plants can grow here. While it is in the heart of Horde-territory, there are still threats to be dealt with. Harpies and Quilboar inhabits these lands, as well as many dangerous animals. There are even a few humans from Kul Tiras stranded here that will do anything to hurt the Horde. There are also rumors of the Burning Blade, demon worshippers, lurking around...
