Double Dragon (BREW version for LG VX4400)
Somewhere in 2004, Eolith Co., Ltd. (이오리스), a Korean company, under a license from Million, made a port of the first Double Dragon game for mobile phones. There were several versions, this one was available on Verizon's LG VX4400 in 2004.
A better version (with reworked levels and animations) was later available for more powerful feature phones under the name of Double Dragon EX. It was released in 2004 on KTF (Korea) (without the 'EX' moniker), and in 2005 for Verizon (USA) and j2me devices (i.e., Sprint).
The VX4400 version features 3 stages, the last one taking roughly half of the game.
Stages do not have end bosses, except for the last level where you fight M.Willy.
There is a Story Mode (in Easy, Normal and Hard difficulty) and a Battle Mode, unlocked after completion of the Story Mode.
The game is controlled by the joystick and number keys.
You can run to the right (3) or to the left (1). You can attack with elbow (7) when facing back your opponent, kick (9, LR Softkeys), punch: (7, OK) the enemies.
There is a combo attack by pressing consecutively 7 and 9 while being close to the enemy, which makes Billy beat the foe against its knee and throw him forward or backward.
A round-kick attack is available on (5) which also depletes Billy's health.
You can pick weapons and objects and attack the enemies with them.
For some reason, the VX4400 version does not play music or sounds on my new Samsung SCH-R210. So I edited in the video the soundtrack from the Zeebo version, and a piece from the iPhone version for the Woods part.
The game was played on normal difficulty.
