Monster Hunter i (the "i" as in "i-mode") is a Monster Hunter mobile game released in 2006 by CAPCOM in Japan for DoCoMo carrier's supported phones.

"Monster Hunter i" does not have a scope. There are a number of small tasks named quests,
Players will be able to complete these quests one after another. You can redo the quest that you cleared once again, so it is a never ending story.

As a monster hunter you hunt a wide variety of harmless herbivorous dragons, violent flying dragons in the plains, jungles, mountains and deserts.

The game was compatible with DoCoMo's phones of the 703, 900, 902 and 903 series, and was available for a monthly fee of 315 yen.

There were several versions of the app. There were 3 separate apps of the 900,901,902 series: "hills and jungles", "deserts and swamps", "rocks and volcanoes", and a "mega pack" which integrated them all. The save data of the 900,901,902 series models, stored on the site, could be carried over.

The on-line part (which is apparently missing from the demonstrated preloaded version) included:

- MH Photo Studio / Music Studio
- Calendar, updated every month.
- Stand-by image / song

Also, the monsters defeated by the app were registered in the "Monster Encyclopedia" on the site,
which could then be downloaded as a "stand-by image".

There was a similar (or it was a port) game, known as Monster Hunter 3D for the EZ-appli (BREW), and available from au/KDDI carrier. A trial version was preloaded on the W52SA phone from this carrier.

The video comes from DoCoMo's SH903i (phone made by Sharp), where the game apparently was preinstalled by the manufacturer.

According to the phone's menu, the game size is 863 Kb.

The phone has composite video output, which allows for, inter alia, output game play to TV (though, it neither outputs to external video when the user is in main menu, nor shows DRM protected videos).
