Dr. Lori continues to spout a bunch of nonsense (featuring Karen Boeker)
We all know the drill by now if you've seen any of my Beanie videos before. Antiques expert Dr. Lori once again feels the need to encroach into the Beanie Baby hobby and charge people for misinformation. Did you know that the OJ Simpson trial was a component in making Beanies popular? Because according to her, it was.
I've ranted about Dr. Lori a few times already at this point, and so for a change of pace, I was able to wrangle Karen Boeker into joining me for this one. She's one of the actual experts from https://beaniebabiespriceguide.com/ and has been an important figure in documenting all the ins and outs of the hobby, especially tracking the values of every Beanie and how much they fluctuate over the years.
This was basically an unprepared rebuttal - I went into it without watching the video beforehand (though I had heard some things about it), and it was all recorded in one sitting. Very little was cut out, just a bit of dead air here and there. I did go through and add some extra visuals though where it seemed appropriate.
Throughout the video I show a timeline that I've made, and anyone who's interested can check it out here:

I do want to stress again that this was just something I put together and should not be considered 100% accurate. It's not officially recognized as a valid resource by the BBPG team. It doesn't list any values or anything though, it just shows the general timeframes that every Gen 1-5 Beanie was on the market and tracks the major variants. Some of the more minor ones, especially poem errors, are not listed.
As always I'm happy to respond to comments if anyone has any questions.
