Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (Sega Genesis) - Full Playthrough
Released in 1993; Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine was made by Compile, and was a reskin of Puyo Puyo (similar to Kirby's Avalanche on SNES); but adding in the cast of the Sonic Universe to help make it appear more to an audience outside of Japan. I will say, that there are some aspects of Puyo Puyo that Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine lacks, but the game itself is lots of fun.
Though, it can be deceptively hard, and frustrating. As it's far too easy for chains and combos to get blocked by garbage beans, and throw your entire plan out of alignment. But, that's just part of the game. Also yes, I'm aware, I'm not exactly the greatest player; I have mad respect for anyone who can consistently pull off chains, and beat the Badniks, but it's hard to get through without being stopped at least once.
Fun Trivia: Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine uses the robots from the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog episode: Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad. Though it's the first episode of the show, it aired in October of 1993, while Mean Bean Machine came out in November of the same year.
