Dr. Seuss: Fix Up the Mix Up Puzzler - Version Comparison
Designed for children ages 4β10, Dr. Seuss' Fix-Up the Mix-Up Puzzler is an electronic sliding puzzle featuring six Dr. Seuss characters: the Cat in the Hat, the Grinch, a Star-Bellied Sneetch, the Doorman, and the Woset and Clark. The object of the game is to reassemble scrambled pictures, each of which is composed of three characters.
There are five difficulty levels from which to choose. In the easiest level, kids can mix and match the characters' heads, torsos and feet any way they like. In higher levels of play, there are more puzzle pieces, some of which are upside down, and characters must be assembled in their original left-to-right order. Puzzles range in size from 9 to 25 pieces. The fifth level has a time limit which, when beaten, will give the player bonus points.
The game was released in 1984 for the Colecovision, Atari 8-Bit, Commodore 64, and Apple II, here is a gameplay of all 4 versions:
0:00 (Colecovision)
The original version of this game is actually on the Colecovision, however due to trouble figuring out some of the controls I only play the first and third round for all versions. The music in this version sounds happy and cheerful like a good 8-bit music in games like this sound.
2:40 (Atari 8-Bit)
While there are less colors here, its still the same game, with the happy and cheerful music once again.
5:07 (Commodore 64)
This one is similar to the Atari 8-bit version, this time however the music sounds more chill and calm rather than cheerful.
8:02 (Apple II)
The graphics are decent for the system, but damn that music. Instead of sounding good, it sounds more like farts bruh, Apple II limitations or not, I would've probably had this port have no music as Apple II music just doesn't do well enough due to limitations.
