Tranquility is a main story quest for Act I. It also gains you Anders as a companion. You might remember him from Dragon Age: Awakening.
Anders is a mage. His unique skill tree allows him to be either be a great damage dealer (if he goes down the Vengeance route) or a decent healer (if down Panacea route). Most importantly, have him learn the skill Martyr. if you set his tactics to use it, he'll use it without having to be in Vengeance mode. This means he'll be able to cast spells more frequently without a penalty to his damage resistance.

Lirene will reluctantly reveals Anders' location to be in Darktown. Refugees will confront Hawke about asking for Anders when he leaves Lirene's shop. A diplomatic Hawke or one of his siblings can diffuse the situation.
5:06 -- Anders
Anders agrees to hand over this map on the condition that you help him meet up with and rescue a friend from the CIrcle. This requires you to visit the Chantry at night. Make sure to grab the codex that is available within his clinic.
9:54 -- Chantry
You meet up with Anders outside. Inside, you'll find his friend Karl on the north-end of the area. When speaking with Carl, you'll be ambushed by some aggressive templars. Since this is still early in the game, this fight can be tough, so keep an eye on everyone's health.
