Dragon Age Origins is a game near and dear to my heart. One that I would credit is one of the reasons I got into video games. Recently, I began a new playthrough on PC, and in a lot of ways the game still holds up. Characters, writing, music, and atmosphere are all still on point. However, on PC, there are slight things that hold it back. With MODs you can alleviate some of this, but I would contend that almost every game you buy should plug and play, with little tinkering in menus, and of course additive content like MODs.

From DLC not installing like it should, to missing and even broken textures depending on MOD conflicts to make the game look better, it’s in need of a re-release to just make the game overall feel, look, and play better. With gaming continuing to get bigger and bigger, it’s important to preserve certain games in the best format possible to allow them to continue to be enjoyed for years to come. Mass Effect Legendary Edition proved it could be done well and successfully bring a series into the modern era, and now Dragon Age, especially Origins, needs the facelift and rework.
