This is video #089 in my playthrough of Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen. This video contains commentary. To view the non-commentary version, click here: http://youtu.be/pHrOaIQhMI4

Well now, the party has resurrected Rose and returned Psaro to his senses. They have collected all the Pandemonium equipment for Psaro from Foo Yung and Chow Mein. Now, it is time to face off with Aamon, the fiend responsible for Rose's murder, in Diabolic Hall.

After loading the game, I form a party of Ragnar, Psaro, Heorot, and Meena. Psaro learned Kazing at Level 38, so I don't especially need Kiryl for the upcoming fight. Heorot's Omniheal spell will be to heal major damage, and Psaro's Multiheal and Meena's Sage's Stone can heal minor damage. Also, Ragnar gets the Liquid Metal Sword. Perhaps most importantly, Heorot gets the Prayer Ring for MP restoration.

After preparing, the party teleports to Diabolic Hall. After transforming to monsters with the Mod Rod, they head into the monster castle (time index 4:01). Becoming monsters enables them to chat with the Diabolic Hall's residents. It sounds like not everyone is pleased with the shift of power in Diabolic Hall.

After chatting with the monsters, the party talks to Aamon in the throne room (time index 6:39). It's time to face the REAL final boss of the game! Psaro must be in the party for this battle to take place.

Like Psaro, Aamon will undergo a few "evolutions" over the course of the battle, but just four this time. Aamon's first form looks like a gray version of Psaro's fourth form. In this stage, he will use breath attacks and physical attacks. All through this battle, it is a good idea to have Meena keep Insulatle up on the party. I have the Sage's Stone on her for minor healing needs. Psaro's Oomph spell will be useful for boosting Ragnar, Psaro, and Heorot's attack power during the first few forms. Ragnar's main purpose is to slash Aamon with his Liquid Metal Sword. Heorot's Omniheal will be invaluable when Aamon does major damage.

When Aamon has taken some damage, he will evolve to his second form (time index 9:57). He grows arms and longer legs, like the fifth and sixth forms of Psaro. He now has stronger slash and stomp attacks, but at least they only hit one party member. As long as Insulatle stays up, the party should be fine.

After taking some more damage, Aamon will evolve to his third form (time index 12:21). He grows a second head and horns like Psaro's final form. Also, like Psaro's final form, he will start using disruptive waves to nullify the party's buffs. He has also gained Kaboom. Heorot's Omniheal will become more important here. Even so, this form is not that much more dangerous, and it should not last long.

After taking some damage, Aamon will evolve to his fourth and final form (time index 15:27). The transformation is simple: his skin turns black. However, this form is extremely dangerous. Aamon still has a fire breath attack. Now, he can also use a f-f-frightfully c-c-cold breath, which does a ton of damage even if Insulatle is up on the party. Aamon can sink his talons into a party member and slam the member to the ground, causing over 200 physical damage. Aamon also has an irritating eye gleam that can put a party member to sleep. Finally, he can unleash all of his magic power at once, causing nearly 200 points of damage to everyone.

Omniheal will become the primary method of healing, and Insulatle should be kept up at all times. If Aamon dispels it, put it back up right away. If Heorot needs MP restoration, don't hesitate to have him use a Prayer Ring or have someone use a Magic Water on him. If a party member is put to sleep, the hero's Cock-a-doodle-doo spell will wake that member up. Naturally, Ragnar should keep attacking, and Psaro should keep Oomph up on Ragnar and himself. If you aced the final battle against Psaro the Manslayer and handed Foo Yung and Chow Mein their butts, this should not be too difficult a difficult battle.

Thanks for watching!
