The party travels from Bloomingdale to their next location, Zere Rocks. Zere Rocks lies atop the Heights of Loneliness in the northeastern Lonely Plains between Bloomingdale and Dourbridge.

Along the way, Heorot reaches Level 23 and earns 5 skill points (time index 2:17).

The party soon arrives at a house outside the Heights of Loneliness (time index 3:54). Apparently, this was the dwelling of old Mason, but he isn't here. Plenty of rocks used for sculpture, though. The bookcase inside the house contains several weapon recipes involving Flurry Feathers (time index 4:43): Staff of Sentencing, Staff of Divine Wrath, Pillar of Strength, Sacred Claws, Foehn Fan, and Gale Force Fan. The house also contains Mason's diary.

North of the house, the party arrives at the Heights of Loneliness (time index 6:29). Outside the cave entrance, they will find Odval, who will give them the Ranger vocation unlock quest, Quest 112: Ranger Changer. This is a mildly obnoxious challenge. The party must use the Knife ability Toxic Dagger to envenomate three Hocus Chimaeras, and the Chimaeras must die from the venom. Naturally, the party will need at least one party member able to use Knives with at least 3 skill points in the Knife Skill. My party had a Mage, but perhaps I should have had a Thief, as well.

After entering the L1 cave, the party gives Jessica the Mage a Paring Knife and puts 3 skill points into her Knife Skill so she can learn Toxic Dagger (time index 8:01). Atop the ladder to the west, they can open a red chest to obtain Mini Medal #014 (time index 9:55).

While in the L1 cave, Debora reaches Armamentalist Level 22 (time index 10:45).

The northern exit of the circular cave leads to the L2 outdoor area (time index 13:22). Up some vines just to the west, there is a blue chest (time index 13:44).

This area is where the party will pound on Hocus Chimaeras for Quest 112. My strategy is to use War Cry to prevent the Hocus Chimaeras from healing themselves and attempt to envenomate them with Toxic Dagger. Toxic Dagger doesn't seem to have the best success rate, sadly. It will help to have a modest supply of Magic Waters to recover the Toxic Dagger users' MP. It will also help to reduce the Hocus Chimaera's HP with a character that won't one-shot it, like a Priest. On the upside, the party can steal Prayer Rings from the birdbrains.

After a few minutes, the party kills their first Hocus Chimaera (time index 19:00). A few minutes latery, they kill their second (time index 23:52). Finally, after a couple of minor blunders, they kill their third (time index 32:59).
