This is video #104 in my playthrough of Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies. This video does not contain commentary. To view the commentary version, click here: http://youtu.be/vd-NpIexRrY

After creating the bridge of light over the Wyrmwood Canyon, the party has traveled through the Wyrmtail and Wyrmwing and have reached the Wyrmsmaw, the large region in the center of the southwest continent. To get through this area, the party has to go around in clockwise fashion.

Northwest of the entrance, the party can climb onto a plateau with magma and farm for Lava Lumps (time 3:09).

In the north of the Wyrmsmaw, the party can go north to reach a section of the Wyrmneck (time 3:39). However, there is nothing to access from this entrance.

After reaching the blasted eastern highlands, the party can go to the southeast corner, where they will find Fisticups (time 5:23).

In the center of the Wyrmsmaw, the party finds a stairway leading up to the town of Upover (time 6:52). Finally! The folk here are much more welcoming than the people of Wormwood Creek. Here, the party learns a bit more about Greygnarl. And the inn doesn't cost an arm and a leg, either.

In the item shop, the party can find a blue chest (time 8:49).

Down in the well, they can find the ghost of a minstrel (time 9:26). He will teach the party a new party trick: the Sultry Dance.

In the church, the party can find information about a couple of veterans of the war with the Gittish Empire (time 10:43).

The mayor's house is on the upper level above the inn, item shop, and church (time 13:12). The bookcase in this house has recipes involving Dragon Scales (time 13:40): Dragon Slayer, Dragontail Whip, Xenlon Rod, Dragon Shield, Dragon Mail, Dragon Dress, Xenlon Robe, Dragon Top, and Dragon Trousers.

Obviously, Upover's mayor is a good person to talk to (time 14:43). He gives the okay for the party to visit Greygnarl at the peak of the Magmaroo volcano.

As the party leaves the mayor's house, Stella pops out and causes a scene (time 16:27). Well, Stella, if Greygnarl is a zombie, we'll let him keep you. :-)

Outside the mayor's house, there is a convenient stairway that leads to Upover's local microbrewery (time 17:11). The drink they brew here is called the Drunken Dragon. I wonder if they offer it at a certain pub in Bywater in the Shire...

The western exit from the brewery leads to the western section of town, where there are a few houses, an Armour Shop, and a Weapon Shop. In the northwest house, there are a few recipes for advanced equipment (time 18:25): Über Falcon Blade, Über Miracle Sword, Über War Hammer, Empowered Shield, Sacrosanct Armour, and Mega-Magical Hat. The lady in the neighboring house seems happy that the way across the Wormwood Canyon is open again.

There is a blue chest in the house next door to the Armour Shop (time 20:31).

The prices at the equipment shops are quite high, so I definitely recommend making gold with the Gold Mail trick. To start, the party gets some Light Gauntlets for Debora the Armamentalist and Battler's Bracers for Angelo the Priest. They get Jessica the Mage a set of Mayoress's Mittens.

At the Weapon Shop, they can find a red chest with Mini Medal #034 (time 23:22). While here, the party acquires a Magical Mace for Jessica and a Great Bow for Angelo.

A minstrel in the middle of the bridge will tell the story of the Hero of the Heavens (time 25:43). Definitely good for some backstory.

This Gittish Empire sounds like it was quite nasty back in the day. Why hasn't the party heard about them in any of the other towns and cities they've visited?

Before moving on to the Magmaroo, the party will do a quest that has become available in Wormwood Creek and then build up their gold supply so they can buy more of the excellent equipment available here.

Thanks for watching!
