Previously, the party explored the Old Coal Mine in Greedmore Valley and jumped through Morgan Gainmore's hoops just to be told that the Supreme Sage's treasure is in a lake northwest of town. So, that is the next place to go.

First, the party checks out the pub on the lower level of town (time 0:39). Not a place for the faint of wallet, though! There is a barrel with 600 gold inside, but you have to pay 1,200 gold to get out. And this isn't like Skyrim, where you could just kill the doorman.

After this debacle, I reset and reload. The party heads out of town (time 4:00).

Northwest of town, they enter the forest and find the hidden lake (time 5:40). And the party is not alone here. Plenty of people are here in search of Supreme Sage Isaac's treasure. It sounds like at least one person has drowned attempting to get it.

To start the action, the party must talk to the man by the northwestern shore of the lake (time 11:04). When offered a choice, they must choose 'Yes'. The lake drains, and then the mob clambers down after the treasure!

There are two ways to do this: the right way and the wrong way. I first show the wrong way. Going down the left-hand side, the party will observe greed-fueled violence. Monsters will appear when the party talks to the woman by the treasure chest. Then, when the party talks to the monsters, all but one human will have collapsed. When they talk to the last man standing, he will do battle with the party. This is Averill. He has a ton of HP, but he is easy to take down. When they move away from the scene, the place resets itself.

As before, the party talks to the man by the northwestern shore of the lake and says 'Yes' to get the lake drained (time 17:22). Now, the key is not to run into any confrontations (time 18:19). Down the first stairway, the party must go down the stairways on the far eastern side. This lets them reach the chest at the bottom uncontested. When they open it, everyone notices that--gasp!--it's empty! The people realize how greedy they have been, and they go back to town.

However, that is not all that there is to do here. The party must examine the chest again twice (time 21:23). Discovering something odd, they uncover the entrance to a cave! Ooh! This must be the way forward.

Before checking this out, the party Zooms back to Greedmore Valley (time 22:01). Things in Greedmore Valley are now much better.

Also, the party can now get in and out of the pub without paying through the nose. The barrel in here contains 600 gold (time 26:56).

Then, in the western manor in the north of town, the party talks to the proprietor (time 28:12). He will give them leave to take the robe that the sage left!

So, the party claims the Dragon Robe (time 28:45). This is a magnificent piece of equipment, particularly for characters like Nevan, Milly, and Ashlynn. It has good defense, and it offers protection against magic attacks, fire attacks, and ice attacks.

Next time, the party will make their way through the cavern under the lake.
