Previously, the party defeated the evil sorcerer Spiegel in the Spiegelspire in the dream world. King Ludwig rewarded them with the Watergate Key, which opens up the watergate east of Castle Swanstone in the real world. Now, it is time to sail on to new destinations!
The party sails west from Port Haven. Along the way, Carver learns the Rank 1 Gladiator ability, Gust Slash (time 1:21).
After sailing west from Port Haven, the party heads south and opens up the watergate in the channel east of Castle Swanstone (time 1:45). They can now freely explore the enclosed southwestern sea! There are only a few new locations they can reach from here at this point.
In the south of the southwestern sea, the party finds the well leading into the Fashion Forge (time 2:51). The Fashion Forge can be used to boost the Style stat of some pieces of equipment. For instance, the Style of the Miracle Sword can be boosted by 13. However, in the case of the Legendary equipment (ooh!), the Fashion Forge will be able to boost its combat effectiveness, as well. Definitely something to keep in mind.
As the voyage continues, Healie reaches Priest Rank 8, Pontiff, and learns Zing (time 5:37). Yay for the Healster!
After this battle, the party Zooms to Alltrades Abbey in the dream world (time 6:05). (I wish someone would fix up its counterpart in the real world.) Anyway, to continue on his road to Sage, Healie changes vocations to Rank 1 Mage, Novice.
The party then Zooms back to the Fashion Forge in the real world (time 7:01). From there, they continue sailing northwest.
As they proceed, Healie learns the Rank 1 Mage spells, Frizzle and Snooze (time 7:54).
To the west of Castle Swanstone, on the other side of the strait, the party finds a bay with a town and a large water-accessible cave (time 9:10). The cave is known as the Mermaids' Cave. In the lagoon outside the cave, the party encounters a mermaid, but as before, she is skittish. They can pursue her into the cave, but they cannot get far aboard the ship.
The party then sails into and docks at the nearby town, Pescado (time 10:40). My, if that isn't a fishy name. No sooner do they disembark, however, than they are rudely greeted by a limping man. He is not very friendly when they indicate that they seek mermaids. Maybe he knows more than he's saying...
The party then begins exploring the fishing town of Pescado. However, the fishiest thing is that there aren't enough fish in the sea. Some jerk is even buying up all the fish in the restaurant and hoarding them. Something stinks here. In the inn, the party learns that it's because of choppy seas that no one can go fishing. And someone in Swanstone was hinting at some monstrous fiend lurking in the sea... And the shop in town isn't even that good. The best item it has is the Pink Pearl, which increases Style by 40. It turns out that the man that confronted them earlier was named Rod.
The cave to the north of the dock is another entrance to the Mermaids' Cave (time 12:46). There appears not to be much to this place, other than a fisherman who mentions a fishy character named Rod. Tired of the fish puns yet? I hope not.
Inside the fish restaurant in the north of town, the 'Plaice to Be', the barrel behind the counter contains Mini Medal #043 (time 15:21).
In the house just east of the pier, one of the wardrobes contains Boxer Shorts (time 20:21). Well, heck; why didn't this insanely valuable treasure make it into the guide I'm referencing?
In the windmill near the pier, one of the barrels contains a Moonwort Bulb (time 20:49).
One of the pots in the southern windmill contains 60 gold (time 21:57).
In the small house to the north, one of the barrels contains a Seed of Resilience (time 22:19). Hey, that's more like it! Also, the residents explain why Rod is in such a slump these days. Poor fella. Also, Rod seems to be visiting the cave north of town a lot. Intriguing...
The southeast house in town belongs to Rod (time 24:06). His bookshelf in the bedroom contains the book 'Scaling the Heights: A Fisherman's Guide'.
Rod's northeast barrel contains 7 gold (time 25:05).
Description continued in the comments.
