The party has finished off Rank A in the Slimopolis, and they have gotten the Sage's Stone from Rank 7 of the Best-Dressed Contest. They also have the Celestial Reins, and Lord Zenith has enhanced them. This will allow them to get to the Dread Realm. So, it's time to head off to that unpleasant place.

After the party logs in, they drop off Goowain and add Terry to the party. Thank you for all the wonderful help, Goowain. Also, they set Terry on the path of Armamentalist by changing his vocation to Mage. He has already mastered the other required vocation, Warrior. He starts at Mage Rank 1, Novice.

When they are all ready, the party sets off with the enhanced Celestial Reins (time 5:21). When you press X after taking off, Pegasus will fly the party to the Dread Realm. However, the moment they arrive, a sudden weight falls on the party. Be warned: each party member is now down to a max HP of 1 and no MP. Any battle at this point is likely to annihilate the group.

The good news is that their first town is just a few steps away to the northeast (time 6:38). This is the town of Despairia, and unfortunately, everyone in town is gripped by soul-sucking despair. The armour salesman says something about a "lovely lagoon" west of town. Sounds suspicious. I have a hard time believing that anything in this world could be thought of as lovely.

In one of the barrels near the armour salesman, there is a Seed of Life (time 8:25).

The southwest stairway leads down to the inn. The party can rest here for free, but it will not restore their HP and MP to full. One patron mentions another blighted town, Greedmore Valley to the northeast, but it is not safe to make the trip there at this point. More to the point, the sleeper in the eastern bedroom says that the lagoon supposedly holds a secret path leading out of this world. Hm, so there may be a way out!

The pot in the inn's eastern bedroom contains Mini Medal #091 (time 11:30). Hey, now there's a little spot of brightness in this gloomy town!

In the northwest room with the bedridden grandma, one of the pots contains a Chimaera Wing (time 16:21).

Down the stairway in the same room, the party finds a room locked by a Magic Key door. The pot in this room contains a Seed of Resilience (time 17:00).

Then, the part talks to the old man in this room (time 17:14). This is Max Wynne, and he turns out to be the missing armourer from the town of Dullertun northwest of Scrimsley. He asks them to go to his home in Dullerton to see his wife and his dog, Silver. He gives them the Old Pipe, which he wants delivered to his wife. Then, he asks them to return with his tools. So, that just leaves getting out of the Dread Realm.

In the graveyard in the northwest of town, there is a shiny spot in front of the northern grave (time 20:47). A man is standing on it, but the party can pick it up by standing to the south of the man, facing north, and using the "Examine" option in the menu. They get Mini Medal #092! The party can also wait until later, when the man will have moved aside.

In the northeast of town, another soldier speaks of the lagoon west of town. Sounds like it's worth checking out. Also, there is an intriguing person in the southeastern bar. Carver's party chat notes that he seems familiar. Could this be the lost mayor of Port Haven?

Upstairs in the central building, the party finds a monster (time 28:16). It is best to leave him alone, but the party can choose to fight him. This is the Jugular Joker. The party will need some good no-MP abilities to beat him, such as Thin Air. It will also help to have Yggdrasil Leaves to resurrect dead party members.

After the party defeats the Jugular Joker, Terry learns the Rank 1 Mage spells, Frizzle and Snooze (time 29:10).

The priest in the northeast corner of town offers the usual confession (and resurrection) services.

Next time, the party will visit the lagoon to the west and see if they can return to the real world.
