Previously, the party climbed Rydon's Tower and met its builder, Rydon Kranbartle. The man sure is dedicated. Then, they climbed the Tower of Alexandra and retrieved the Kran Spinels from Alexandra's statue. Now, they will deliver the jewels to Dominico.

After resuming, they go to Dominico's mansion in Arcadia. A scene takes place as they approach Dominico, Leopold, and David in the courtyard (time 2:03). That Dominico is such a big bully, and his dog is no better. The scene went a little differently in the PS2 version. There, Dominico actually accused David of poisoning the food and forced him to taste-test it like a dog. I guess Nintendo thought that was too distressing. Even so, I would be inclined to let Dominico get his comeuppance.

We regain control of the party in Dominico's courtyard after the scene (time 4:48).

In Dominico's study, a scene takes place when they speak with the master (time 9:15). They hand over the Kran Spinels. Then, they accept his generous offer to let them serve as his bodyguards. His first assignment: to go down to his secret library and fetch a book called 'The Big Book of Barriers' for him. Such a prestigious quest request.

We regain control of the party in Dominico's study after the scene (time 12:17).

Down in Dominico's secret library, there are three locked red chests (time 12:55). They contain Mini Medal #064, a Magic Vestment, and 650 gold.

Then, the party turns to the bookshelves. One contains the manuscript 'A History of the Diakonos Family, Volume One' (time 13:52). It was written by Cletus, an ancestor of Dominico. The tale is quite interesting.

The next bookshelf contains the manuscript 'A History of the Diakonos Family, Volume Two' (time 14:58). It continues Cletus's tale. I wonder if this has some bearing on what is going on now.

The last bookshelf contains 'The Big Book of Barriers' (time 15:47). This is the key item that the party must take to Dominico.

But then, a brief event takes place as the party goes up the stairs (time 16:20). Jessica has been sighted!

Another scene takes place as they approach Dominico in his study (time 16:43). The party hands over the book to Dominico. Dominico heals the party to full HP and MP and orders them to stall Jessica.

An amusing event takes place if the party talks to Dominico again (time 18:22). I found it funny, anyway!

Out in the courtyard, a scene takes place when the party approaches David and Leopold (time 20:58). Somehow, I doubt that Master Dominico is the target. Fortunately, the party is just in time.

After the scene, it is boss time against Evil Jessica (time 22:59). Evil Jessica can summon three Shadows into the battle at a time, up to a maximum of six in two groups. She can pester the party with a few attack spells: Kafrizzle, Kasizzle, and Kacrackle. Her physical attack with the staff is mildly powerful. However, the biggest annoyance is the Kasnooze spell.

After Dhoulmagus, this battle is none too threatening. Angelo's Multiheal is more than sufficient to keep the party cured. WIth enough points in Staves, Angelo can put Oomph on the protagonist and Yangus to increase their attack power. Jessica does not seem to use Kasnooze too often, so it is safe enough to psyche up. If the protagonist has a Swallowtail, his high-tension attack will wipe out the Shadows, even with no points in Boomerangs. Yangus's Thin Air won't hurt the Shadows, so he is best used to attack Jessica.

At the end, the party defeats Evil Jessica without much trouble (time 27:11). Davilas reaches Level 33. He obtains 7 skill points. He puts them into Courage for a total of 86. At 82 points in Courage, he becomes Lionhearted and learns the spell Omniheal. This is one of the best healing spells in the game. Yangus reaches Level 32. He obtains 8 skill points. He puts them into Humanity for a total of 42. At 42 points in Humanity, he becomes a Faithful Friend and learns the spell Kabuff. Angelo reaches Level 32. He learns the spell Kaswoosh, the highest-tier wind spell in the game. He obtains 7 skill points. He puts them into Charisma for a total of 36.
