Previously, the party continued working on the Tale of the Decisive Battle at Eternity's End storyline. They went to the Gate of Hades at the end of the Eternal Corridor and began the final boss sequence of the main Version 2 story. They fought Prince Toma and then Demon King Madesagora. Now, they will fight the final bout and then wrap up the main Version 2 story.

Gate of Hades (time 0:07):

After the bout against Demon King Madesagora, another scene with Madesagora, Anlucia, and Toma takes place at the Gate of Hades. Madesagora has delayed the party long enough for Toma to open the gate. The worst happens: Madesagora gains some of the power of Creation. While he has not absorbed the Spiritual Core of Creation yet, he has gained the power to transform into a terrifying chimeric dragon. Of course, Anlucia, Heorot, and the party will not give up so easily.

Madesagora, God of Creation (time 5:48):

After the scene, it is boss time against Madesagora, God of Creation (創造神マデサゴーラ). Naturally, Madesagora can normally act twice per round. This battle goes through several phases. He starts out fairly tame with plain old spells like Kazapple and Kacrackle. He also gains the Suspicious Glance that is almost guaranteed to put a party member to sleep. His physical attack is nothing to sneeze at, but at least he seems not to use Falcon Slash. However, his desperate attack is a killer.

In the second phase, he creates the Accelerating World. This phase doubles each actor's number of actions per round. Each party member gets two actions, and Madesagora gets four. Madesagora gains Triple Kafrizzle and Triple Kazammle, which respectively cast Kafrizzle and Kazammle against three random targets. He may also use Disruptive Wave, though I did not see it.

In the third phase, he creates the Unholy World. Everyone goes back to their normal number of actions per round. During this phase, everyone's susceptibility to status ailments is increased, including Madesagora. His Unholy Breath damages the entire party while inflicting Poison, Paralysis, Daze, and Curse. Unholy Magic Power sets a magic circle below allies' feet that deals about 200 damage and inflicts a status ailment when the affected allies' turn comes around. Land Impact deals about 300 points of damage to each party member and can knock them down. He may also have Disruptive Wave, but I did not see it.

In the fourth and final phase, he creates the Chaotic Rate. This increases every actor's critical hit rate, haywire spell rate, and damage dealt. He has many of the actions from the second and third phases, and he also gets Magic Burst. His Magic Burst deals a respectable 320 points of damage to each party member. He can also pray to recover his MP after Magic Burst.

With his myriad ways to kill the party, Madesagora, God of Creation, is a dangerous opponent and a worthy final boss. Protective buffs are useful, notably "Snap, Crackle, Poof" and Magic Barrier. In fact, with "Snap, Crackle, Poof" in effect, the third phase is probably the easiest. The party can debuff Madesagora easily in this phase; lowering his attack power is really helpful. The fourth phase is the deadliest and the longest. Madesagora's desperate attacks are especially lethal. Fortunately, the party will also benefit from the increased crit rates. Saint's Wind can be very helpful for keeping the party alive. Have plenty of Yggdrasil Leaves and Yggdrasil Dew on hand. With luck, the party may pull through. Note that a party wipe means that they will have to start over from the bout against Prince Toma, so stay alive. Hero's Shield and Hero's Light are helpful.

At the end of the battle, Madesagora, God of Creation, provides a base of ca. 55,000 experience points and 33,000 gold. Anlucia reaches Level 87. She earns 7 skill points for a total of 16.
