Previously, Davilas completed Quest 075, the Level 45 Thief task. After that, I tried to record the next quest, but Elgato's recording software mysteriously dropped the video file afterwards. Fortunately, it is fairly easy to redo quests in this game.

The setup for Quest 076 requires the Kaitou Mask. It is sold at Gatara's armour shop for 1,200 gold (time 7:30). It is the very last item on the list. It is an eyewear accessory.

When he is all set up, Davilas visits Budecho in the southern house at G-6 (time 8:15). Budecho assigns him Quest 076, the Level 50 Thief task. Now, he has to go after the Gyasumon that possessed Chamuuru in the previous quest. It is located in a cave in Eastern Goburu Desert.

Davilas allows Banri, the cute little witch in Rendoa, sweep him off to the Oasis encampment (time 10:39). The cave is located at D-5 due west of the encampment (time 12:34). As Davilas heads inside, Chamuuru of the purple mohawk will appear. Afterwards, the Gyasumon appears and splits into three.

After the scene, it is time to fight three Gyasumons (time 14:47). Before finishing them off, Davilas must steal the Gyasumon Heart key item from one of them. They have some curse breath and Burning Breath skills available, and they can put party members to sleep. Aside from that, not too bad.

After the battle, another scene plays (time 16:58). Chamuuru seems happy for the help.

Then, Davilas zooms back to Gatara (time 19:16). Before reporting in, Davilas changes vocations to Level 28 Gladiator/Battlemaster (time 19:43).

He next reports into Budecho in the southern house at G-6 (time 21:27). The initial reward for this quest is the Proof of Thief. It looks like this allows one to steal items automatically after defeating enemies, which was how Thief worked in many previous Dragon Quest games. Since this is a secondary completion, Davilas earns a Gold Urubea Coin. Quest 076 complete!

The thief Daruru and her ... partner in crime show up for a cutscene (time 22:31). Then, the final montage for the Thief quest line plays (time 24:15). Chamuuru seems to be off in search of treasure.

After all that, Davilas reaches Gladiator Level 29 (time 24:50). He gains 5 skill points, which he puts into the Gladiator's Guts skill for a total of 54.

Then, he takes the train to Gaatoranto (time 27:41). When he arrives, he picks up a second sword for himself (time 29:30). Gladiators can dual-wield swords.

Now, the next quest line numerically is for the Minstrel vocation, but Davilas already finished those quite a while ago. After that, the extended story quest lines for each of the initial hub cities begins, starting with Glen's Quest 082. Each hub city's extended quest line requires completion of that city's main story.

So, Davilas zooms over to Glen (time 32:15). In the castle's throne room, he talks to Minister Chiguri at C-4 (time 33:54). Minister Chiguri assigns him Quest 082, the first of Glen's extended story quests. The task is simply to talk to an Ogre over in Lion's Gate northeast of the city.

Davilas takes the option to travel directly to Lion's Gate (time 34:55). The extended story quests are rife with these convenient options. At E-6 in Lion's Gate, Davilas talks to Borazaaru at the southern end of the bridge (time 35:52).

Then, Davilas returns to Glen (time 36:55). In the castle's throne room, he talks to Minister Chiguri again (time 38:25). After saying something about Beckon Valley and Gaatoranto, Chiguri rewards Davilas with 4 Red Eyes and some good experience. Quest 082 complete!

A scene takes place after the turn-in (time 39:52). One of the guards brings in a familiar visitor, the wizard Eidos! Eidos says something about Oren, the skeletal swordmaster that Davilas had to defeat as part of the Glen storyline. It appears that the good minister is volunteering Davilas to help out.

A montage plays out after this scene (time 42:16). It seems to hint at a dark library.

Then, Davilas talks to Minister Chiguri again (time 43:06). He wants Davilas to go speak with the scholar Danderu on the castle's first floor.

So, on the first floor, Davilas talks with Danderu at F-4 (time 45:21). He seems to emphasize several words, as shown by them being written in Katakana rather than Hiragana. Anyway, he issues Davilas Quest 083, the second of Glen's extended story quests. He is after something in the northwest of Landon Foothills. Specifically, he wants Volume 47 of the History of Glen from the Abandoned Archive out there. This seems to have something to do with Oren.

Davilas takes the option to transport directly the Gerd Strait encampment (time 46:32). He exits southwest to Landon Foothills (time 48:33).
