Previously, Link the wolf managed to meet Princess Zelda and escape from the twilit Hyrule Castle, thanks in no small part to the help of a strange imp named Midna. She dropped him off at the spring in Ordon Woods north of the village. However, he is still a wolf! And it is getting dark. I guess the thing to do now is check out the village. We know that Ilia and Colin have been abducted, but what about the other villagers?

As Link leaves the grounds of the spring, Midna pops out again (time 0:30). To help his friends, he'll need her help, so he needs to follow her orders for the time being. She demands a sword and shield.

If Link tries to go north towards Faron Woods, Midna will pop out and rebuke him (time 2:23). So, the only way to go is back to the village. As Link heads south towards the village, look out for a single Bokoblin. Link's jump attack with A will knock it down, and a spin attack afterward will defeat it.

Link then heads south to his homestead (time 3:19). A couple more Bokoblins await here. After dispatching them, Link can use his Senses and Dig up some minor treasures.

As he tries to head towards town, a squirrel speaks up from the door to his house (time 4:16). He will offer advice to talk to the animals of the village, which is helpful.

Link then heads south to the main part of Ordon Village (time 4:52). Things are all too quiet, and Beth's dad is cursing his own weakness on the plateau near the shop. Sounds like ALL the children have been abducted.

Jaggle and Mayor Bo are having a hushed conversation just outside Jaggle and Pergie's house (time 5:46). Link will have to sneak in close to listen to them. If he approaches close enough, Jaggle and Pergie's dog will come to him and offer advice.

When he is close enough, Link can listen in on Jaggle and Mayor Bo's conversation (time 6:43). The mayor plans to mount a rescue attempt because Rusl got hurt. He hopes to get the shield from Jaggle and the sword from Rusl. However, they flee when they notice Link! Poor guys, but at least Link got some useful info. Midna will point out the open window and the waterwheel. Link will need to find some way to jump up there.

If Link gets too close to the plateau where Beth's dad is lurking, the distraught father will mistake him for a monster and send the hawk after him (time 8:40). If Link dashes right after that, he can avoid the hawk's attack. When this happens, Sera's cat will pop out to provide Link some useful information (time 9:13). Link should sneak up from behind and scare him.

From the mound near the shop, Link can companion-jump to Sera's roof (time 9:55). When he jumps from there to the plateau, Beth's dad is scared witless. It shouldn't be funny, but it is.

From here, Link can Howl at the grass that summons the hawk (time 10:27). It is pretty similar to using the Wind Waker baton in the previous game. The hawk will come down and apologize for its instinctive behavior.

Then, Link uses companion jump to get to the Waterwheel House's open window (time 11:37). Inside, he gets onto the table and uses companion jump to reach the loft where the shield has been hung. Dashing into the wall a couple of times will dislodge it (time 12:18). Afterwards, Link picks up the Ordon Shield, the wooden shield of this game. After criticizing the shield, Midna urges Link to find the sword.

Link can jump out via the northwest window (time 12:58). As he lands in the creek, Rusl and Uli will hear the noise. Even though he is wounded, Rusl insists on checking it out. He also verifies that the sword is on the couch in their house.

As Rusl patrols outside his house, Link will have to avoid the bubble of light from his torch. It is easy if he sneaks through the creek. Also, Link should avoid getting close to Uli by the front door the house. The frogs and chicken near Rusl and Uli's house will have some very useful information.

Around the back side of Rusl and Uli's house, Link's senses will reveal a hole that he can dig through to get inside the house (time 17:18). Sitting right on the couch is the Ordon Sword (time 17:46). This is what Rusl and the mayor hoped to have Link deliver to the royal family of Hyrule. After giving Link a backhanded comment, Midna says she will now take him back into the twilight at Faron Woods.

Description continued in the comments.
