Davilas the Elf is currently working on the storyline for Gatara, the first Dwarf hub city. Davilas has previously gone to the Chaldean Mountain Cave. Poikkurin, the girl dressed much like Zorro, tried to drop a piece of a gear into the lava there, but Daston caught it in a net.

Now, back in Gatara, Davilas returns to Daston's junky-looking house (time 1:03). Daston's servant, Potsukon, gives Davilas some information. After this scene, Davilas has to head to the Urubea Ruins, which is in the northwest of the Gatara countryside.

In the pub, Davilas picks up a few party members (time 3:32). He checks for gate quests, but I don't see any for the immediate area.

Then, he heads out to the Gatara countryside (time 7:56). Quest 303 is still in progress. He already got an item drop from a Skullgaroo. The item from the Skullgaroo appears to be a type of ingot.

Now, he gets another item drop from a Gacha Cuckoo (time 9:34). Appropriately enough, the item from the metal bird looks like a gear.

After getting these items, Davilas returns to the Delacroix Institute through the teleporter at F-4 (time 11:04). There, he talks to Tansu, the man-eating wardrobe (time 11:56). From further research, I believe he has now given Davilas something he has to equip before talking to him again.

In the northwest corner of the railroad tracks, he opens the chest at C-3 to collect 3 Copper Ores (time 14:41).

Back in Gatara, he lightens his inventory a bit by selling off items cluttering his inventory (time 15:19). He also banks excess Medicinal Herbs and 1,000 gold (time 17:39).

Then, he begins heading west to the Urubea Ruins (time 18:33).

At A-2, he finds the entrance to the Urubea ruins (time 22:02). As soon as he enters, there is a scene with Poikkurin. She sure is a little cutie!

Let the exploration of the Urubea Ruins begin! Magical Hats and Iron Cuckoos dominate the upper level, B1.

At E-2, Davilas heads downstairs to level B2 (time 27:03). The most direct route to the boss is to follow the main route south from here, but there are some treasures to get first.

Then, he heads back upstairs at D-2 to the west (time 28:37). At D-3, there is a dead end with a red chest containing 3 Magic Vials (time 29:13).

To the west at A-2, Davilas heads down to floor B2 (time 30:10).

While down here, Davilas reaches Minstrel Level 33 (time 32:29). No new spells, no skill points.

In a little alcove at C-5/C-6, there is a treasure chest containing a fragment of gold stone (time 36:24).

After that, he heads back up to floor B1 at B-2 (time 38:01). Then, at C-2, he heads down to floor B2 (time 38:50).

Next, he makes a beeline south to the stairway to B3 at E-7 (time 41:40).

At G-5, in the southeast corner of the chamber in front of the boss room, there is a red chest containing a Magic Water (time 42:48). Nice!

Then, Davilas examines the door to the boss room at F-4 on level B3 (time 43:20). In another scene, Daston will arrive and open the door with the piece of gear that he had. Poikkurin is here, but she is too late to stop the door from opening. I love Daston's expression of greed. However, he has awakened something that he should not have awakened! And Poikkurin's identity is revealed as her mask is stripped away. She is really Daston's daughter, Chiri.

After the scene, it is time for the party to battle an Urubean war-mech and clear up the mess Daston has made (time 48:26). This can be pretty tough if you are underprepared. Oomphing allies is a good idea, but Sapping the enemy's defense does not seem to work well. If you have an AI-controlled party, bring enough Magic Vials and Magic Waters to keep them rolling in MP, especially the healer(s). The war-mech has a strong cannon attack. It can also shoot its head into the ceiling, bringing boulders raining down on the party and knocking them onto their backs for a turn. Looks like it can also swing its axe around in a circle.

After a while, its circuits may overload, providing an opportunity for free damage.

At the end of the battle, Davilas reaches Minstrel Level 34 (time 52:06). He earns 5 skill points.

More cutscene goodness will take place afterwards (time 52:36). The war-mech goes to pieces, and Daston is thrilled to have a junk-heap to examine. After this scene, Davilas will have to visit Daston at home to get his Key Emblem from Gatara.

The chest that the war-mech dropped contains one of those stronger Genki balls (time 56:57).

Back out in the main part of the dungeon, Davilas puts his 5 skill points into Litheness for a total of 44 (time 58:06). He tries to find the pillar he needs to examine for Quest 199.
